This Post Graduate Diploma course in Advanced Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry (PG Dip AARD (UK)) is designed by Dr. Subir Banerji, the Programme Director of the internationally acclaimed MSc in Aesthetic Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry Oral & Craniofacial Sciences King’s College London. This course is delivered in a blended learning format with 5 online modules and one onsite module (module 6) that comprises of 10 days of onsite workshops. The last assessment module (module 7) will be written assignments and presentation of clinical cases.

The onsite module involves intensive practical manikin and simulation-based exercises. It enables the delegates to learn and demonstrate understanding and application of techniques covered in clinical practice and also allows face-to-face interaction with the teaching faculty and peers.

The blended learning format enables the busy dentist to complete a structured programme in the field of aesthetic and restorative dentistry with due recognition without taking too much time away from their practice. Learning in the comfort of their own home and at their own pace. Depending on the scheduling of the onsite module, it is anticipated that the delegate will be able to complete all the modules in 2 years. However, the time away from practice would only be 10 days (onsite module 6). For module 7, the clinical cases will be completed in the dentists’ own practice on their own patients with guidance from faculty. Otherwise no travel or time away from home or practice is required. The
assignments will be submitted and assessed online.

This programme is recognized by EduQual (UK), an awarding body from United
Kingdom, as a post graduate level certificate course. It is equivalent to level 7 qualification.
These awards can only be achieved if the syllabus, quality of teaching, course assessments
and content are of a sufficiently high quality for Post Graduate Level 7 award as governed
by the UK awarding bodies.

Course Duration – 2 years ( Online and Onsite)

Online Modules – 5 (>350 hours of study material)

Delegates will get online access for 2 years to complete all the 5 online modules. They can study the online content at their own pace.

Onsite Workshops – 10 Days

10 Days Masterclass with practical hands-on mannequin and simulation-based exercises. The format will be lecture, interactive seminar and workshop based with practical exercises on dental mannequins and simulation models.

Assessments – Online
Understanding of the course content will be verified by online assessments for modules 1-5 that will comprise of: Multiple Choice Questions & Short Answer Type Questions.

Final Assessment (Module 7) – Submission of 3 written assignments and 2 clinical cases.

Mentoring – Live online tutorials
Upon registration to the programme delegates will be allocated to a faculty tutor who will help and guide towards the preparation and submission of assignments and clinical cases. This guidance will be given via online face to face seminars during the duration of the programme.

Registered Dental Practitioner with registration on the relevant Dental Council of country where employed as a dentist.

The course will be conducted in English so knowledge of English essential.

Internet access is required for online learning resources.
